Candy Dulfer is an international star holding a Dutch passport. Sheis the daughter of the famed tenor saxophone player Hans Dulfer; atan early age, she developed into a gifted soloist and band leader.She scored her first great hit with Lily Was Here that she recordedwith Eurythmics front man Dave Stewart. She was also asked by popstars like Prince and Van Morrison to join their world tours andperform on their records. As a band leader, she has recorded tenalbums since 1990. Her latest double album, Funked Up & ChilledOut, was released last summer and it shows exactly why Dulferreceives so much international acclaim. Her playing is super funkyand she always assembles a top-notch line-up. As is the case onthis edition of the North Sea Jazz Festival, where she will performwith a number of well-known surprise guests.
