In the 70s, the English pianist John Taylor was primarily known asthe sideman of greats like drummer Peter Erskine, saxophonist LeeKonitz and bassist Marc Johnson. In 2002, with this same Johnsonand drummer Joey Baron, he formed a new trio and began his 'own'career. Two years later, he recorded the album Nightfall withbassist Charlie Haden and trumpeter Kenny Wheeler. Over the pastten years, Taylor has mainly focused on two projects: his trio withPalle Danielson and Martin France and a project in which these twomusicians are joined by saxophonist Julian Argüelles.
