Myriam Gaasbeek is a twenty year old who sings and produces musicwith the ease of someone with many years of experience. She hadalready won 'De Kunstbende' at the age of seventeen. And one of herfirst songs, The Gods Must Be Crazy, immediately became the titlesong of the film Ik omhels je met duizend armen (I embrace You witha Thousand Arms), based on the book of the same name written byRonald Giphart. She has effortlessly maintained that high level asproved by her most recent productions I Got You and From Now On.With these two songs, Gaasbeek, together with five other artists,was selected for the Take Six project, set up for rising talentswho combine pop and jazz. The result appeared on the recentcollective CD Take Six released by Muziek Centrum Nederland (MCN).Gaasbeek's range is broad and she appeals to fans of Norah Jonesand John Legend, as well as lovers of Billie Holiday and ArethaFranklin.
