The Rare Groove Orchestra was formed in 2003 in The Hague by fourmen with a preference for homemade rare grooves. For this reason, funk, soul and soul-jazz are the main ingredients and the endresult is prepared with thick drum beats, sprinkled with deep basslines and finely cut guitar licks, and served with a substantialtouch of the Hammond B3 Organ. The recipe has earned a lot ofapproval, as can be gathered by their performance at EuroJazz inMexico, for instance. In 2007, their debut album The Rare GrooveOrchestra was released on the Souljazzer label. At the beginning of2009 the long-awaited second album, The Man with the Dirty Finger, was brought out, on which during a live performance they give allthey've got.
