Even at the age of 87, Jean Toots Thielemans firmly stands on thehighest steps of the ladder of jazz. He still performs all over theworld and his characteristic and phenomenal mouth harmonica playingis as powerful as ever. Artistically speaking, he is as always atthe top. Thielemans has received tribute upon tribute, these pastyears. At the festival, he will perform with three famousmusicians. He will bring along soulmate Kenny Werner on the piano.Bassist Scott Colley and drummer Antonio Sanchez will share thestage with him as well. His latest album, titled One More for theRoad, was released in 2006 and is filled with duets withcontemporary jazz greats. He made a duo album with Werner in2001.
