Regular visitors to the North Sea Jazz Festival know Cees Schramaas an amiable presenter and a man who knows all about jazz. ButSchrama's main claim to fame is of course as a record producer andmusic publisher. His role as a presenter started in 1973 when hefirst presented the famous jazz radio program Sesjun. As amusician, from the 1960s through to the 1990s, he was the leader ofCasey and the Pressure Group. He also recorded with, among others,The Shoes, Polle Eduard and Bonnie St.Claire. Today, Schrama isChair of the Stichting Jazz op Zes (Jazz on 6 Foundation). Twoyears ago he wrote about his experiences in his book entitled ItDon't Mean A Thing: Leven met jazz. The now 72-year-old Schramawill be performing in Rotterdam with the well-known saxophonistsBoris van der Lek, Alexander Beets and Hans Dulfer. The line-up iscompleted by vibraphonist Lodewijk Bouwens, double bass player EricBarkman and drummer Gijs Dijkhuizen.
