Throughout his illustrious career, Seu Jorge has successfully incorporated all types of genres within his unique Brazilian sound. Whether it's funk or rap, bossa nova or samba, he always manages to reach out to audiences in every part of the globe with his powerful vocal delivery. On his new album Baile À La Baiana he stretches things a little further; connecting the universal influences of Rio de Janeiro even closer to the Afro traditions of Bahia. With his regular band Conjuntao Pesadao, he creates his own twist on regional Afropop that has traditional elements, but also a whole heap of soul, funk and so-called 'black samba'. Jorge goes in search of unity through exuberant dance numbers, and it’s his aim to send everyone home with an upbeat feeling – in his own words: “This album shows that good people attract each other. It's about connection, celebration and fun.”
