At the age of 11, Matteo Mancuso was already appearing on stage at local Sicilian festivals with his father Vincenzo. Now he’s barely 30 years old, but already has multiple guitar fans and connoisseurs worldwide showering him with praise. Greats such as Al Di Meola and Steve Vai pronounced him as representing the 'evolution of the fusion guitar'. His dizzying string work – played without a plectrum – is the result of an abundance of talent, hard work and solid education. He received a scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2017. Due to his classical foundations, he is able to branch out in practically any direction. Whether it’s gypsy jazz, bebop, country & western, prog rock or fusion, Mancuso’s mercurial hands can play it all, brilliantly and effortlessly. The prodigy from the province of Palermo released his debut The Journey in 2023, featuring influences from his heroes such as Allan Holdsworth and Django Reinhardt, but above all, the album echoes the musical journey of an inimitable artist with an all-consuming passion for music.
