It is not without reason that ZO! Gospel Choir is the most requested choir in the Netherlands: it proves itself time and again. Whether on television, such as in the EO program Amazing Grace, accompanying (inter)national artists such as Gregory Porter, Mariah Carey and Oleta Adams or in collaboration with Ladies of Soul and the Metropole Orkest. The choir was founded in 2010 in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost by Donna Lewis and Gordon Cruden and two of the Netherlands’ most renowned singers, Berget Lewis and Shirma Rouse, act as artistic advisors. The repertoire varies from powerful, rousing black gospel to subdued soulful songs and other popular genres such as jazz, classical, R&B and pop. This year, the choir celebrated its 15th anniversary with its own concert in AFAS Live. At the festival, it will do what it did in 2022 (then as last-minute substitutes): blow the roof off the Nile!
