Last year they very nearly took the roof off the Congo tent, so popular demand sees them back on the major Nile stage in 2025. Thee Sacred Souls, a fairly new addition to the Daptone stable, are all about atmospheric sounds, and the heartwarming soul of the band from San Diego is perhaps exactly what people need in these turbulent times. Drummer Alejandro Garcia, bassist Salvador Samano, and singer Josh Lane have undergone a comet-like evolution since the formation of Thee Sacred Souls in 2019. Their self-titled debut album from 2022 attracted millions of listeners, including Alica Keys, and brought the band to sold-out venues and major festivals throughout Europe and the US. Its successor Got A Story To Tell revives the heyday of Motown, with a frontman who is already being compared to Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield, and songs that all have the potential to become absolute classics.
