Prince, Erykah Badu, Herbie Hancock, Snoop Dogg...This whole bio could be filled with big names with whom the musicians of Ghost-Note earned their spurs. This funk band led by Snarky Puppy’s percussionists Robert “Sput” Searight and Nate Werth brings the music of Sly Stone and James Brown into the here, the now, and the future. They also add Afrobeat, old-school hip-hop breaks, and psychedelica all topped off with sharp, driving horns, lots of percussion, deep bass lines, and a ton of positive energy. The members of Ghost-Note came together for the first time in 2015 and are now on their third album. Okay, a few more names to impress you: the individual band members have also played with Marcus Miller, Justin Timberlake, Toto, Kendrick Lamar… that’s enough – go check them out for yourself!
