The Brazilian artist Mari Froes is inspired by contemporary Brazilian pop, bossa nova, samba and jazz, which she shapes and shakes into her own catchy cocktail. The singer-songwriter started singing covers at a young age, and in 2019, she released her first singles, Moça and Rose E Laranja, with her first EP, Nebuloso following the year after. Her major breakthrough came in the summer of 2024 with her performance on The Colors Show, a YouTube channel where both well-known and unknown artists appear in a live setting. Froes impressed viewers with her rendition of the popular Brazilian song Gabriela. That same year, she made a video in which she sang the Figa De Guiné by Nei Lopes and Reginaldo Bessa. The video went viral on TikTok with over 72 million views, and was released as a single by Sony. For the French electronic duo Trinix, she also wrote and sang Vaitimbora, which was a hit in the Med last year.
