Adrian Younge is truly one of a kind: he’s a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, an Emmy Award-winning composer, and one of the most consistent guardians of analogue sound in a digital age. From his Linear Labs studio in Los Angeles, he’s worked with Kendrick Lamar, Ghostface Killah and Wu-Tang Clan, and wrote the music for Marvel's Luke Cage. He also co-founded the label Jazz Is Dead, together with A Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammad. Younge has put out an impressive series of albums on the label, from greats such as Gary Bartz, Lonnie Liston Smith and Henry Franklin. At the festival, he is presenting a new five-piece live ensemble featuring singer Loren Oden, which fuses cosmic soul, hypnotic jazz and psychedelia in a cinematic nocturnal vision. The main focus of the set will be his new album Younge, which is dark, compelling and analogue all the way.
