Incognito have cleverly managed to mix jazz, funk and soul since the late 1970s, and have struck musical gold in the process. The London outfit founded by guitarist, producer and bandleader Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick developed over time to become an unstoppable groove machine. They truly made their mark with the album Inside Life and the club classic Always There, with which they set the tone for the acid jazz movement in 1991. Over time, Incognito became a firm fixture on jazz and soul stages worldwide. Bluey always writes and produces with the voices and personalities of his musicians in mind, adding new color to the recognizable sound with each lineup change. He has also produced recordings by Paul Weller, George Benson, Maxi Priest and Terry Callier, among others, and worked with Stevie Wonder. With dozens of albums to their name, Incognito remains true to its mission, which is to create positive sounds to get people connected, and up and moving.
