Singer and multi-instrumentalist Alain Pérez is a widely celebrated music phenomenon from Cuba, who has enjoyed a career spanning over two decades. Through his boundless creativity and virtuosity, Pérez evolved into a bandleader, arranger, producer and composer across various genres, ranging from salsa to flamenco and jazz. At the age of 17, he was invited to become a singer for Chucho Valdés’ famous group Irakere. In subsequent years, Pérez worked with iconic names such as Paco de Lucia and Jerry González, and went on to produce albums by greats such as Celia Cruz and Habana Abierta. Pérez was nominated several times for a Latin Grammy, and went on to win the prestigious award in 2021 for Best Traditional Tropical Album.
