Although they met (and became fast friends!) when studying at Codarts in Rotterdam, the members of Fried Friends 5et hail from remote corners of the planet: Hong Kong, Valencia, Napels, Nepal, and South Korea. In their sound and compositions, they seek to bridge the hard bop tradition with more modern jazz sounds, drawing inspiration from the legendary quintets of Horace Silver, Art Blakey, and Miles Davis.
