Want to perform at NN North Sea Jazz yourself? You can! Bring your instrument and register for the Open Stage, where you can jam with professional musicians. You can register on-site every day between 14:30 and 18:00. Today’s jam session is led by The Nest Vol. 5 plus guests and made possible by BIRD, the platform for Black music in Rotterdam.
The Nest is BIRD’s annual residency program, now in its fifth edition. Four emerging artists create new music together there for seven days, supported by mentors. The new work is presented on various stages, including as a try-out at BIRD and at NN North Sea Jazz. The program is deliberately curated around a diverse mix of artists from jazz, hip-hop, and electronic music, aiming to generate unexpected new collaborations and sounds within an underrepresented scene.
