Groningen-based Deejay Irie, born in Brazil, is a jack of all trades: as a teenager, he was part of hip-hop crew 8 Millimeter and toured with Osdorp Posse. After he started scratching, he won the DMC Battle in the Netherlands no fewer than five times and came second internationally. He has his own label, It Takes Two, is a resident DJ at Homebase in Groningen, and tours with urban theater group ISH Dance Collective. But Irie doesn't stick to spinning records: he is also a World Visual DJ Champion.
