As a DJ, Questlove has been a household name within the international club and music scene for years. In addition to his work with The Roots, he has built an impressive DJ career playing sets all over the globe, from hotels and nightclubs to events such as the Academy Awards. During Covid, he streamed hundreds of virtual DJ sets, reaching international audiences, and further cementing his reputation as a something of a walking music encyclopaedia. This led to a weekly live stream on BlackStream Live’s Twitch channel. As a DJ, Questlove is known for his in-depth knowledge of soul, funk, hip-hop, disco and jazz. His sets make you feel like you’re being immersed in a musical time travel event, where rare grooves, classics and surprising transitions follow each other in rapid succession.
