United Souls is a collaboration between two top ensembles from Utrecht: the Utrecht Student Bigband (USBB) and Dekoor Close Harmony. This unique formation brings together the best of both worlds: the raw energy of a swinging big band and the vocal finesse of an award-winning pop-jazz choir. The 31 choir singers and big band of 19 musicians together form a 50-piece orchestra that takes the audience into a groundbreaking live experience with an explosive mix of jazz, soul, gospel and pop. Not just a sum of voices and wind instruments, but a fusion of sound and conviction: a musical energy of choir and big band that connects stage and listener. USBB is a permanent fixture in the Dutch student jazz scene and has worked with artists such as Benjamin Herman, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Ruben Hein and Eric Vloeimans. Dekoor won world titles in jazz and gospel at the World Choir Games and shared the stage with Damien Rice, DI-RECT and The Rolling Stones, among others.
