South Korean pianist and composer Chaerin Im lives and works in Amsterdam and Seoul. With her trio, this versatile musician explores the boundaries of improvisation and experimentation. Her sensitive keystrokes take listeners through dramatic, emotional and warm sounds that reflect the unique stories behind her music. Im has collaborated with Sun-Mi-Hong, Reinier Baas and Pablo Held, among others. She has performed at major festivals in the past, including jazzahead!, EFG London Jazz Festival and the Oslo Jazz Festival. In 2022, the joint project The Back Of Beyond (with producer Song Younam) was released. Im also won the Keep An Eye International Jazz Award and the Dutch daily newspaper NRC named her Young Artist Of The Year in 2024. In the fall, Im’s debut album is coming out on Dox Records. In the Chaerin Im Trio, she is accompanied by Italian bassist Alessandro Fongaro and Danish drummer Ludvig Søndergaard.
