NYVE (Nynke Veen) lives for writing songs. The 20-year-old singer-songwriter performs on both guitar and piano, drawing inspiration from artists like Lianne La Havas and Olivia Dean. Her quirky songs, blending bossa nova, soul, jazz, and pop, quickly got airplay on Dutch radio stations like 3FM and Radio 2 with Leo Blokhuis. Her single FYI was even named TopSong on Radio 2. This year, she made her debut at Eurosonic Noorderslag where she seemed completely at home; Dutch TV show 3voor12 called her a neo-soul star in the making who delivers her songs with confidence and joy. Right now, she’s working on her debut EP Be My Own with producer Wouter Hardy (who worked with Duncan Lawrence on Arcade). The philosophical theme of this project is that you first need to love yourself before you can love someone else. In any case, it won’t be long before more and more music lovers embrace NYVE.
