In just over 15 years, DeWolff has grown from a group of hungry youngsters with surprisingly mature taste to veterans with unquenchable youthful energy. Something the Limburg natives have never lost is their love for classic rock ‘n’ soul, bronzed in the blazing sun of the American South. They couldn’t have paid better tribute to that sound than on their latest album Muscle Shoals (2024). The record was made with Grammy-winning producer Ben Tanner in two legendary studios in Alabama: FAME and Muscle Shoals Sound. Countless greats have made history there: Aretha Franklin, Etta James, the Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and more recently The Black Keys. DeWolff soaked up the atmosphere, felt the vibe of their heroes, and came up with a simmering, soulful sound, lounging in a wonderfully lazy groove. However, laziness is never an issue live with these Edison winners. Both the band and their audience always head home exhausted but happy.
