American hip hop artist Chance the Rapper likes to do things his own way. Since he has built his career to ‘win fans for his vision and not for what is popular at the moment’, in his own words, the 26-year-old MC elects to only stream his songs, because he strongly feels music should be available to everyone. This philosophy has been very successful, and with his third mix tape, Coloring Book (2016) he even wrote musical history. It became the first release, without actually selling a single copy, that skyrocketed into the Billboard 200 Top Ten and was awarded three Grammys. In July his highly anticipated debut album Owbum will be released and it will surely play a prominent role in his bound-to-be breathtaking show at North Sea Jazz.
