Even at a very young age Robert Randolph was in the grasp of the power of music: he frequented the local House of God Church with his very religious parents. There, he became fascinated with the sound of the pedal steel guitar. Randolph instantly embraced the instrument and traveled from New Jersey to New York City to hit the club scene with his exciting mix of gospel, funk, soul, blues and even a little bit of rock. Randolph's live success didn't remain unnoticed among his musical colleagues. In 2004 Eric Clapton took him on a tour of Europe, where the pedal steel guitarist made his mark on continental Europe's live scene. The now thirty-year-old Randolph released the album We Walk This Road, produced by T-Bone Burnett, last year. He now wants to connect generations and bridge cultural differences through the same musical strength with which he broadened his own horizons.
