When Prince makes it known that he would like to work with you, it means one of two things: you are a great musical talent, or you're a beautiful woman. Or both, as is clearly the case with Lianne La Havas. The English singer-songwriter and guitarist is strikingly elegant, but it is her voice that makes the biggest impression, as she sings mature songs with a strong stage presence. La Havas was born in London 1989, the child of a Greek father and a Jamaican mother. Last fall, she made her TV debut on the music program Later with Jools Holland and since then all her live shows in England have sold out in no time. And that, while her debut album Is Your Love Big Enough is not due for release until July. You will remember La Havas's high-necked blouses and her hair in a strange bun, but you certainly won't forget her disarming gaze and her heartbreaking voice either. This young woman could soon turn into a true star.
