Tea for 3 - Dave Douglas, Enrico Rava & Avishai Cohen

Tea For 3 consists of three unique musical trumpet personalities: Italian Enrico Rava, New Yorker Avishai Cohen and his fellow countryman David Douglas. The power of this trio is obviously in the collective and not in their being musical musclemen. The driving force is Douglas, who wrote a large number of compositions especially for Tea For 3, to be performed by Rava, Cohen and himself in a lyrical way. The group also plays numbers from the older jazz repertoire. Douglas has been a renowned bandleader for over 20 years, and has dozens of albums to his name. He is also inspired by the pop music of Radiohead and Rufus Wainwright. Rava has been active as a soloist and bandleader since 1972. The younger Cohen has been releasing his music since 2000. The lineup in Rotterdam will be complemented by pianist Uri Caine, drummer Clarence Penn and bassist Linda Oh.
