One month before the publication of the full program and timetables we proudly announce Artist in Residence Chick Corea and more news names.
Chick Corea, considered to be one of the most influential jazz musicians since the 60s, will perform with three completely different combinations. On Friday the keyboard player will come to the festival with his Elektric Band, an all-star lineup, with guitarist Frank Gambale, saxophonist Eric Marienthal, drummer Dave Weckl and bassist Nathan East. The albums Two and The Enchantment already demonstrated his duo with extraordinary banjo virtuoso Béla Fleck is a golden combination. On Saturday the Dutch audience will enjoy the twosome for the fist time live. On Sunday Corea will take the stage together with the adventurous Norwegian Trondheim Jazz Orchestra.
Added to the line up on Friday are Lettuce, José James, Jeroen van Vliet Moon Trio, Mark Guiliana Jazz Quartet, Marquis Hill Blacktet, LABtrio, Baloji and the Maarten Hogenhuis Trio.
New names for Saturday 8 July are Woman to Woman! featering Renée Rosnes, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Anat Cohen, Melissa Aldana, Ingrid Jensen and Tineke Postma. Also playing on this day: Jon Cleary, Roberto Fonseca, Jordan Rakei, ALA.NI, Ben Wendel Group, Estafest en Pink Oculus.
On Sunday Madeleine Peyroux, Kovacs, Steve Coleman and the Council of Balance with DoelenEnsemble, Muhal Richard Abrams, Peter Evans & Levy Lorenzo, Michelle David & The Gospel Sessions, Ben van Gelder Quintet en Jazz - The Story featuring Vincent Herring, James Carter, Jon Faddis, Steve Turré a.o. have been added to the program.
