Joe Bonamassa replaces Robin Thicke at North Sea Jazz 2009
18/06/2009

Quiz question: who was the opening act for BB King at the age of fourteen? Answer: Joe Bonamassa. The singer-guitarist was only four years old when he became enthralled with guitars. Age ten, he started performing professionally and when he was twelve he was supporting act for BB King – the living blues legend, who will be performing in the Nile this year on Friday.
Bonamassa is not surprised by his speedy development: “My father was a guitar dealer and he played, too, so there were always guitars in the house; they were part of my life. They were as common as tables and chairs.” The BB King protégé was able to perform for a full house last November in Dutch concert hall Vredenburg and for his coming show in the Amsterdam theater Carré, all tickets have been reserved already. Luckily, fans will get another opportunity to see Joe Bonamassa live: at the North Sea Jazz Festival, in the Nile on Friday.
Joe Bonamassa will replace Robin Thicke, who unfortunately has had to cancel his entire European tour. Raul Midon will replace Thicke on his preformancec at North Sea Round Town Thursday Juli 9th
