North Sea Jazz wants to offer young talent a platform. This is why we host the finals of the Dutch Jazz Competition and the European Jazz Competition on our festival. Annually a young and promising Dutch jazz composer is granted the North Sea Jazz Composition Assignment. Next to this the North Sea Jazz Festival offers a variety of clinics and annually organizes a design competition for students of the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam.
