North Sea Jazz Concerts
In cooperation with several concert halls and theatres in the Netherlands, Nort Sea Jazz presents several concerts throughout the year. Under the name ‘North Sea Jazz Presents’ concert halls De Oosterpoort in Groningen and Frits Philips in Eindhoven offer you special jazz series that comprise 3 or 4 concerts. If you are interested in young talent, we advise you to regularly check the North Sea Jazz Next Generation concerts, which are held in a.o. theatre Lantaren/Venster in Rotterdam and the Bimhuis in Amsterdam.
North Sea Jazz Presents
In cooperation with North Sea Jazz, concert halls De Oosterpoort in Groningen and Frits Philips in Eindhoven offer you a unique jazz series that comprises 3 or 4 concerts. You can choose to attend the entire series, or book tickets per concert.
Oosterpoort is kicking off with a performance by Grammy winner Herbie Hancock. The Dizzy Gillespie All Starts TM and the Wayne Shorter Quartet are part of the program of both series. Former members of the original Dizzy Orchestra Slide Hampton and James Moody, together with Roy Hargrove on trumpet, will bring homage to Dizzy Gillespie. Jazz legend and founder of the famous Weather Report Wayne Shorter will give an acoustic performance, together with Danilo Perez, John Patitucci and Brian Blade. Concert hall Frits Philips ends their series with a performance by Madeleine Peyroux. Because of her flirtatious voice, phrasing and timing she is often compared to Billy Holiday.
