Today, the Congo is reserved for exciting big bands from different corners of the globe. Each band has its own distinct sound. Keyboards player Jerry Dammers of The Specials will be performing a tribute to Sun Ra with his Spatial AKA Orchestra. Together with the Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra, keyboard player/composer Jason Lindner will bring you the sound of new, contemporary N.Y. jazz. The Mask Orchestra of famous English composer Colin Towns performance’s are razor-sharp and although the music is film-like and melancholic, it seriously rocks. And finally, Spok Frevo is one of Brazil’s best frevo orchestras. Frevo is a fast style of music, influenced by the polka and marching music, which is steadily growing in popularity in Brazil. In terms of technique, energy, improvisation and originality Spok Frevo is at the top of the league! A festive end to the night!
