Hyperrhythm
Recently, musicians with a fascination for hyper rhythms have clustered together in various scenes in cities all over the world. These producers, coming of age in an ocean filled with sounds from the omnipresent
electronic media, and connected with each other through online networks, are emerging as the architects of musical constructions of staggering proportions. Cities like Los Angeles, Glasgow and London are playing a large role in this development and are home to labels like Brainfeeder, LuckyMe and Warp. In Amsterdam, we have Viral Radio as an active vessel for spreading around this new electronic music. The program they have compiled includes the Swiss virtuoso Dimlite, Irish wonderboy Mike Slott and the Scottish “herald of change” Hudson Mohawke. It is their most ambitious program so far.
