About Al Green
Al Green's silken sustained notes, sensual moaning and
breathtaking falsetto represent the feeling of pure soul to many of
his admirers. He received no less than nine Grammy's and he had
smash hits with Tired of Being Alone, Let's Stay Together, Can't
Get Next to You and I'm Still in Love With You. After having
side-tracked soul music at the end of the seventies and opted for
religion for a long time -interpreting a fall from the stage as a
sign from God - many feared that his music wouldn't benefitĀ from
the occurrence. Green only sang spirituals and gospel songs for a
long time. But in 1993 he changed directions. He returned to
r&b and soul and scored a huge pop hit with Annie Lennox. The
year 2003 marked his major come-back with scorching soul albums
like I Can't Stop and its follow-up Everything's OK. Currently
Green is on the road a lot and is performing all over the
world.
