About Chano Dominguez Quintet

It is sometimes said that jazz pianist Chano Dominguez was recruted by flamenco, but the relationship Dominguez has with this authentic Spanish musical style goes back way earlier. The first instrument this special pianist learned to play, was in fact the flamenco guitar. Thus he knows the genre from the inside and that explains why Dominguez is able to create miracles on the grand piano. He applies the jazz tradition on flamenco and the outcome doesn’t sound like a fusion, but more like an authentic new style. That special talent results in the fact that Dominguez is one of the most in demand Spanish musicians of today.
